I was just beginning to write about ā no kidding ā the beginning. Iām getting stuff from both a Jewish and Christian point of view. And then it hit me. Can we have faith in God if we want to know everything? Can we reach a point where our need to know everything brings us to a point where faith means little to nothing?
The rise of the Nones: religious changes in America. It sounds ominous. Maybe momentous. But I wonder, since religions are about God, what does God think about the rise of the Nones? In other words, is the rise of the Nones a religious change in Heaven? For that matter, what is a None?
Similarities between Renewable Energy and Christianity in Americaās culture wars? Say What? Renewable energy and Christianity? Did I catch your attention with that? Itās more than getting attention though. I was really struck by some of the culture war issues that renewable energy and Christianity do have in common.
My radiation treatment for prostate cancer is finished. So, whatās next? Do I get to just move on with life and put this behind me? Uh ā no. Cancer isnāt something you can just say that itās over and forget about it. But then, thereās so much that Iāve learned along the way, itās not something I want to forget either.
How is no healthcare for some people loving? I have to ask, since a state with a 70% Christian population just made it harder for some people to get healthcare. Even if those people were enemies, Jesus told His followers to love them. Was Jesus wrong?
I just read this headline about lots of people changing religions. They want something different from what they have. But whatās really behind it? Can people get a new God by switching religions?
Who should Christians hate? Who do Christians hate? Wouldnāt it be nice if the answer to both questions was yes? Obviously, unless youāre living under a rock, they arenāt. But then, you know that, because if you were living under a rock you probably donāt have good internet service and arenāt reading this.
Why pray to God when people donāt want to listen anyway? Seriously, why would a Christian Pastor say, āWe ought to pray as if it all depends on Godā? And to make it worse, follow it up with, āBut we have to work as if it all depends upon usā?
Youāve probably heard it before ā Religion and politics make strange bedfellows. Today though, weāre going to narrow it down to Christianity, rather than religion as a whole. So we end up with Christianity and politics make strange bedfellows. And when we narrow it down like that, the combination of Christianity and politics is even more strange than religion and politics! Why? Because some religions do intentionally have the government, politics and governmental laws, integrated with their theology and religious laws.
Is that headline for real? Should grade school children learn battlefield trauma care? Why even ask this shocking question? Because this is already the law in Texas for 7th graders and up. Now thereās a bill to propose this training for 3rd through 5th graders as well. Seriously.
