We Christians always say things happen for a reason. And that God’s in control. However, when those things happen to us, do we live like we really believe it? We also say God’s always with us. Even in the bad times. And so, I believe God remembers my cancer situation. But, do I remember God?

The Parable of The Wise And Foolish Builders. On one level, it’s about the choice between building a house on rock or sand. That sounds like an easy choice to make. On another level, it’s about what we do, if anything, after hearing or reading what Jesus had to say.
I’ve started several times to write something like this. But it’s never gotten very far. However, with things around the world deteriorating, maybe it’s time to try again? This time, it’s in the form of a question. Government christianity or Jesus’ Christianity. Which do you want? I know, some of you want to answer neither. But that’s not a choice. We’ll see why not in a moment.

Let’s have a contest. The First Amendment versus the Greatest Commandment. Which is more important to Christians? Let me rephrase that. Which should be more important? It’s the Greatest Commandment, isn’t it? Or did I miss something?
Life with cancer – from patience to trust and hope. I knew it was going to happen. The only question was when. After prostate removal, the biopsy showed my cancer was more aggressive than previous biopsies indicated. It also showed more cancer than what was expected. Finally, it also showed what’s known as cancer cells on both margins. That means there were cancer cells on both ends of what was removed. With all that, the chances of total removal were pretty much zero. And so, it was a question of waiting for what was nearly inevitable. The inevitable happened.
Will there be homeless people in Heaven? I ask because of something I read in The Detroit News. An article titled, More older Americans at risk of a homeless retirement. Unless you’ve been hibernating for the last couple of years, you know the sad reality of homelessness in what we call the greatest country in the world. Maybe it is, if you’re one of the fortunate ones who has enough money to have a place to live and buy good food. But, ...
Does Christianity really say wives submit to your husbands? Well, that depends. The English words say that. Unless we take the time to read the rest of the sentence in which they occur. If we turn to the spirit of the words, no, it doesn’t necessarily say that at all. I ask because I was going to write about something totally different today. That is, until I read the headline – Grace Community Church Leaders under Fire for ‘Excommunicating’ Wife Who Refused to Stay with Abusive Husband. That is, in a word, disgusting! And it’s a misuse of the verse in question. So, in another word, it’s wrong.
What is the source of knowledge? And I mean of true knowledge? Not just information. Not someone’s version of “their truth” or what someone else “knows”. But real, honest-to-goodness true knowledge. Remember when that used to exist? It hasn’t gone away. And it won’t go away, no matter how much we try to ignore it. But in today’s world of information overload, how can we find real true knowledge?
