Predestiny and free will are two choices given to us by Christian denominations. By people, really. Those who influence what denominations believe about what God said. But are they choices given to us by God? You know, the One who gave the words to the people who actually wrote the books in the Bible? What... Continue Reading →
Who is God? Do pronouns take us away from God’s love?
Who is God? Or is it what is God? Not to mention, what are His “preferred pronouns”? I read a recent article that makes me feel like all this political correctness is taking us away from who/what God said He is. Most of all, God is love. But the article never used the word love. Not even once.
Did God make lots of fish die? Or did we?
Did you see all the fish that died on the beaches in Texas? And have you seen the stuff on how this points to the end of the world? I have a different question. Did God make lots of fish die? Or, did God know that we were going to make all those fish die? And does it matter?
Who was the first to say vengeance is mine?
Who was the first to say vengeance is mine? Many people know that as something from the Bible. If it was early on, then it’s likely God was the first to say it. If it’s early enough, then God said it before any of today’s major religions were established. But do we understand where it came from what it really means?
Can we have faith in God if we want to know everything?
I was just beginning to write about – no kidding – the beginning. I’m getting stuff from both a Jewish and Christian point of view. And then it hit me. Can we have faith in God if we want to know everything? Can we reach a point where our need to know everything brings us to a point where faith means little to nothing?
What is the source of knowledge? True knowledge?
What is the source of knowledge? And I mean of true knowledge? Not just information. Not someone’s version of “their truth” or what someone else “knows”. But real, honest-to-goodness true knowledge. The U.S. and Israel: Three Tragic Verses – One Unavoidable Conclusion. The U. S. will not help Israel at a critical time and … When presented with the facts, no matter how much we don’t like what they say, sometimes the conclusion is unavoidable. Just look at Ukraine and you get an idea of what’s coming.
Does God really protect us? If yes, from what?
God really protect us? Will thought to himself. As soon as he silently asked himself the question, he answered it. Of course he does. Then another thought: Does he always protect us in the way we want, when we want it?
Christians – What are you wearing? Your Sunday best?
Christians – What are you wearing? Your Sunday best? Uh Oh. Is this going to be about wearing clothes that are “appropriate” for Christians? Like long dresses for women? Suits and ties for men? If that’s what you’re concerned about, don’t worry. I’m talking about something else entirely. Well, sort of. Something that really matters. Something that makes a difference.
Never again will I destroy all living creatures. Until …
Never again will I destroy all living creatures. That’s what God said. You know, back in Genesis, the first book in the Bible. Of course, that means He did destroy all living creatures once. However, let’s not forget what happens in Revelation, the last book in the Bible. God won’t destroy all living creatures. That... Continue Reading →
