Lithium and energy independence. Will God’s creation be destroyed again?

Deep in the Southern California desert, a massive drill rig taps into what could be the energy of the future.  That’s the opening line from an NBC News article. But my question isn’t just about lithium and energy independence. No. I want to ask if, yet again, will God’s creation be destroyed in our rush to get that independence. In other words, are we ruling over the earth, or are our desires ruling over us?

Do Christians know who is poor?

The Bible says we should care for the poor. But do Christians know who is poor? I always thought, for the most part, it was pretty obvious who was poor and who was rich. Active surveillance for cancer again. Help me overcome my unbelief.

For today though, after going from surveillance to surgery and back to active surveillance, I can’t help but think about the guy in Mark’s Gospel who asked Jesus, “help me overcome my unbelief”.

Christian and depressed. How is that possible?

The Bible says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. How is it then that we can be Christian and depressed? With all that love, joy, peace, Etc., is it really possible to still be depressed? From experience, I say absolutely yes.

How can I leave you again?

How can I leave you again? Some of you will recognize that question as the title of a John Denver song. Others will be reminded of someone. But who? Who can we leave, return to, and the lyrics to the song apply?
