The Bible says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. How is it then that we can be Christian and depressed? With all that love, joy, peace, Etc., is it really possible to still be depressed? From experience, I say absolutely yes.
How can I leave you again?
How can I leave you again? Some of you will recognize that question as the title of a John Denver song. Others will be reminded of someone. But who? Who can we leave, return to, and the lyrics to the song apply?
The problem of “church words” no one else understands
Church words. They are a problem. A big problem. We (Christians) use words that we learn in church. We know what they mean. But that doesn’t mean everyone else does. It’s like slang words/phrases – figures of speech.
Which came first – the chicken or the egg? Why?
It’s an age-old question. One of life’s great mysteries. Which came first – the chicken or the egg? It’s stumped people for a long time – apparently – because scientists are still working on it. Do you know – what is Advent about?
It’s Advent season. But do we know what it is? What is Advent is about? For instance, do we realize that the first Advent has come and gone, and now we’re waiting for the second Advent? And after we do know, are we really ready for the second coming of Jesus? It will come. And whether we’re still alive for it or not, it matters to all of us.
What Is A Pop Tart Christian?
I read the quote above and immediately thought about pop tarts. Unlike the picture on the left, there was practically nothing inside. Very little filling compared to the dough. Someone who doesn’t allow the Holy Spirit to fill them and guide their lives.
